As the second wave of Covid-19 abates, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has unveiled development works worth more than Rs 5,220 crore for different districts through nine virtual programmes.

Development works worth about Rs 225 crores were unveiled for Kabeerdham district on June 10, and worth Rs 358 crores for Gariaband district and Rs 556 crores for Rajnandgaon district on June 11.

Projects worth Rs 271.51 crore were presented to Dhamtari district and worth Rs 276.12 crores to Mungeli district on June 12.

This was followed by Rs 172.65 crores worth of projects for Bemetara district, worth Rs 120.09 crores for Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district and worth Rs 561.32 crores for Raipur district on June 13, worth Rs 308.31 crores for Raigarh district on June 14, worth Rs 283.70 crores for Jashpur district, worth Rs 247.91 crores for Sarguja district and worth Rs 76.52 crore for Balrampur-Ramanujganj district on June 15.

All govt depts told to procure items from e-ManeC portal

Industries department has directed all departments to procure items for office use from the e-portal E-Marketing Network ofChhattisgarh e-ManeC till February 28.
As per officials of industries department, in the past three years, Chhattisgarhs single-window for government departments purchase and order-supply portal had purchased supply items worth Rs 964.94 crore from small and micro industries e-portal through e-ManeC. As per state commerce and Industry department officials, in order to increase the consumption of finished products in the small and micro industries across the state, the e-ManeC portal was launched on November 25, 2019 over centrally-run GeM portal in Chhattisgarh.

Through this portal, products are being purchased according to the need of government departments. In the last three years, materials worth more than Rs 964.94 crore have been purchased by various governmentdepartments.

WHO praises Haat Bazaar Clinics

The World Health Organization (WHO) has praised the Haat Bazar Clinic scheme of Chhattisgarh, saying it was effective in providing healthcare facilities to people in remote villages and forest areas.

WHO has prepared a documentary film based on the scheme that was released by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence in Raipur.

The film will be screened at the WHO headquarters in Geneva.

Haat-Bazar Clinic scheme has played an effective role in the success of Malaria-Mukt Bastarcampaign and Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana.

So far, more than 62,47,000 people have availed the healthcare facilities in the past four years through 1.28 lakh Haat-bazaar clinics.

The scheme includes counselling pregnant mothers and treating infectious and non-communicable diseases, eye diseases, Malnutrition, skin diseases, diabetes, TB, leprosy, high blood pressure and HIV. Vaccination of infants and pregnant Women is done too.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said the works and schemes of Chhattisgarh were getting national recognition.

Baghel said this while dedicating to the public 357 development works worth Rs 67.13 crores in 11 civic bodies in the state though a virtual programme.

Specially mentioning the recent felicitation and award of being the cleanest state in the country, Baghel called it a major achievement.

On this occasion he reiterated that the development and development of civic amenities in urban as well as rural local bodies in the state was the priority of his government.

Citing welfare schemes of Godhan Nyay Yojana, the Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh was the only state which procures cow dung and it has one of the best schemes to promote Organic Farming.

The state is also the first state in the country to develop rural industrial parks in Gauthans (cowsheds).

Chhattisgarh to get first skin bank for burn injury patients

Chhattisgarhs first skin bank that will help treat severe burn injury will soon come up at Raipurs Dau Kalyan Super Specialty Hospital (DKS).

The cadaver skin is taken with relatives Consent and is processed, incubated, and kept under 4-5 degree centigrade which is kept under a cold room processor. Before the skin graft procedure, the skin is tested similarly as blood tests go through various other screenings including HIV,Hepatitis B, C, Skin infection, and TB. The skin is used for the victim only after the test comes negative.

Chhattisgarh to have Tea-Coffee Board

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced the formation of a Chhattisgarh Tea Coffee Board.

The Board is being constituted with the aim of providing maximum benefits to the local farmers and workers engaged in processing and promoting tea-coffee cultivation in the state, the Chief Minister was quoted as saying in an official Communication.

He said that in the next three years, tea and coffee will be cultivated in at least 10,000 acres of land.

At present tea is cultivated and processed in Jashpur district in the northern part of Chhattisgarh. The coffee is grown in Bastar district.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said that newly formed four districts will come into existence soon. The officers will be appointed, a notification will be issued and claims and objections will be taken. He said the administrative units are being made smaller to facilitate the common man. He underlined the need for transparency in work so that people can derive benefits of schemes quickly.

Baghel was addressing residents of the newly formed Sakti district and Suhela tehsil of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district here. The people thanked him for announcement the four districts, an official statement said.

The responsibility of implementing the government schemes lies with the departmental officers and employees. The public representatives should actively back it up to ensure the scheme benefit the public

Monsoon session begins on a sombre note

The first day of themonsoon sessionof theChhattisgarh Assembly began with members of theHousepaying tribute to BJP legislator VidyaratanBhasinandBhanu Pratap Singh, former ministers in undivided Madhya Pradesh, who passed away during the inter-session period. After the members paid condolences, the House was adjourned for the day.
The proceedings in the House began with Speaker Charan Das Mahant making obituary references to two former ministers, Bhasin and Singh, stating that both were socially and politically active personalities, and their deaths are a huge loss.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the Godhan Nyay Yojana is providing support to dairy business also.

People are very excited from the benefits of the scheme, he said, and added that people with business say their income has increased due to the sale of cow dung, he said.

Many dairy farmers have started buying milch cows, building sheds as well as buying motorcycles to increase their dairy business with the extra income earned from selling cow dung, an official Communication on Thursday quoted Baghel as saying.

Include 76% quota bill in 9th schedule: Baghel writes to PM

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to include the states amended provisions, which provide 76% reservation to different communitie, in the 9th schedule of the Constitution.
In the letter, the Chief Minister stated that inclusion of the amended provisions of reservation in the 9th schedule of the Constitution would ensurejusticefor the deprived and marginalized sections of the Society, considering the special circumstances of the state. He has requested the Prime Minister to direct all concerned officials to take necessary action in this regard.

The reservation (Amendment) Bill passed by the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in December 2022 provides for 13% reservation for Scheduled Castes, 32% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for Other Backward Classes, and 4% for Economically Weaker Sections in the state.

The Chief Minister has also highlighted that 32% of Chhattisgarh’s total Population consists of Scheduled Tribes, 13% are Scheduled Castes, and 42% are from Other Backward Classes. Moreover, 44% of the state’s land is covered with forests, and a large part of the state is covered by inaccessible mountainous regions. These factors contribute to the state’s unique situation and the need for special provisions for reservation.

Baghel pointed out that reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes were provisioned at 12%, 32%, and 14% (total 58%) respectively since 2013, which was annulled by the Chhattisgarh in 2022. In December 2022, the state assembly unanimously passed a bill based on the population of different categories to increase the reservation Percentage for SC, ST and Other Backward Classes, and EWS people to 13%, 32%, 27%, and 4%, respectively. This bill is currently pending with the Governor for his assent.
