Andhra Pradesh to be developed as IT hub if TDP comes to power: Nara Lokesh

Desam Party (TDP) national general secretaryNara Lokesh promised to takeAndhra Pradeshto the top position in the country in the Information Technology (IT) sector and completely prevent the migrations from the state in search of EMPLOYMENT.
Several Software employees working in the neighbouring states met Lokesh at Sanjeevapuram of Dharmavaram Assembly segment during his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’.
They wanted the IT companies to be invited to start their units in the state.

Tech Summit expects 3K crore investments

In a bid to attract about Rs 3,000 crore , theAndhra Pradeshgovernment and Indo American Chamber of Commerce will jointly conductVizag Tech Summitin February 2023.

In the run up to the event, road shows and investor meetings will be held in 11 major cities, including in Europe and theMiddle East. According to the officials, the event will feature many global innovators, thought leaders, and influencers in Visakhapatnam, including creation of a Rs 100 crore impact fund.

Facial recognition to aid pension disbursal

In a move to avoid trouble in gettingbiometricauthentication from the elderly during the disbursement of pensions, the has decided to use a mobile application forfacial recognition.

The government had directed district collectors to complete the disbursement of pensions in three days.

Panchayat raj minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy reviewed the issue of disbursement of pensions with senior officials on Tuesday. He asked the officials to monitor the disbursement to ensure that all beneficiaries receive pensions without any delay.

The decision is expected to benefit the elderly and the physically challenged who face difficulties in getting their identities authenticated through biometric devices.

Andhra Pradesh: Historical sculptures of Kakatiya regime found near Tenali

Historical sculptures ofKakatiya regimewere found in neglected state at Kolakaluru village of Tenali mandal in Guntur district ofAndhra Pradesh.

After a thorough inspection of the sculptures, the four inscriptions dated 1240, 1241, 1242 and 1318 CE engraved on pillars of the Agasthyeswara temple and the southern wall of the Kesava temple which record the donation of land for the dancers and upkeep of both the temples.

The historical temples and temple parts in shambles besides deliberate coating of chemical colors on the historical structures and dwarapala sculptures without knowing the historical significance of such structures.

First Destroyer Delivered By Mazagon Dock

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) delivered the first ship of Project 15B Class Destroyer Visakhapatnam to the INDIAN NAVY on 28 October.

Highlights:

In November, the ship is expected to be commissioned as one of India’s largest destroyers, with an overall length of 164 meters and a displacement of roughly 7,500 tonnes, and was built using indigenous steel.

The ship is a powerful platform that can perform a variety of operations and missions across the entire spectrum of maritime combat.

It is armed with long-range Barak-8 surface-to-air missiles and supersonic Brahmos surface-to-surface missiles, as well as indigenously produced anti-submarine weapons and sensors for undersea warfare.

Jagan launches portal for marriage schemes

Chief minister YSJagan MohanReddy launched the website ofYSR KalyanamasthuandShadi Tofaschemes which are aimed at providing financial assistance for daughters wedding in poor families.

He said they have made SSC pass a mandatory clause for both bride and groom to get the assistance under Kalyanamasthu and Shadi Tofa with an intension to encourage parents to see that their children complete at least high school studies. He said that the scheme would also prevent the child marriages and promote girl Education.

He said since the marriage age for girls is 18 and boys is 21, they would surely complete intermediate after finishing high school instead of sitting ideal at Home.

Notwithstanding the plans of IT companies to call their workforce to office, the state government has decided to set up Work from Home Townships to facilitate tech workers working from remote locations.

The government has decided to set up 25 townships on pilot basis and go for expansion after studying the situation. The government will provide space, work stations, high-speed Internet and other in the proposed townships. The decision has been taken at the work from Home town committee meeting chaired by Industries and IT minister Mekapati Gautham Reddy.

The government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy asked the officials to kick-start the pilot project within three months. He directed the officials to take appropriate measures for providing security, 24×7 internet, privacy and other facilities in the proposed locations.

Andhra Pradeshhas collected about Rs 27 crore from violators ofCovid-19appropriate behaviour.

These violations range from not wearing masks in public places and floutingsocial distancingnorms to social gatherings in excess of permissible strength, public consumption of tobacco, etc.

As per the existing guidelines, officials can impose a penalty of Rs 10,000-Rs 25,000 on commercial establishments for allowing persons without masks. Similarly, individuals can be charged Rs 100 for not wearing masks in public places.

The has already banned consuming smokeless, chewable tobacco or non-tobacco products and spitting in public places as part of prevention measures against thepandemic.

Andhra Pradesh cabinet clears proposal to rename Konaseema district

The state Cabinet on Friday cleared the proposal to renameKonaseemadistrict as Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district. The cabinet also cleared the four cash benefit schemes ofAmma Vodi, Vidya Kanuka,Vahana Mitra, Kapu Nestam and Jagananna Thodu schemes to be released in July.

The cabinet met at the secretariat, where chief ministerYS JaganMohan Reddy tabled the new schemes for the approval. The schemes included, the state governments agreement with Byjus for the school Education and the 3,700 mw plant of green energy.

Briefing media after the cabinet meeting, minister for information and public relations Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna said the cabinet has approved Jagananna Amma Vodi where Rs 6594.6 crore will be disbursed benefiting over 43 lakh mothers for sending their children to schools.

YSR Bima Scheme in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the YSR Bima scheme with new guidelines, where the authorities itself will directly pay the Insurance amount to the household of the deceased to make the insurance claims easier.

In order to help 1.32 lakh households via the YSR Bima scheme, the State authorities allotted Rs 750 crores for the year 2021-22. In the last two years, the State authorities had spent Rs 1307 crore for YSR Bima.
