Chief ministerYS Jagan Mohan Reddyhas said that the government was planning to waive Rs 10,000 crore worthhousing loansof the poor through the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme.
He further said that the government would provide free registration of the houses transferring all rights to the beneficiaries.

The chief minister made this announcement with the officials during his review meeting on housing programme at his Tadepalli camp office on Wednesday. He wanted the officials to create awareness on the benefits of the OTS scheme for house loans among people. He further said that OTS scheme is totally voluntary and houses will be registered with clear title.

Jagan said a few vested interests were spreading false information on OTS scheme. He said the

previous government did not consider proposals to waive interest of housing loans. He said over 43,000 people have paid interest along with the principal amount during the previous government. Though houses were given to them over the years by the successive governments, they have only B form pattas, which deprive them of even availing loans for their domestic needs.

In a big initiative to reduce carbon emissions, the Centre has grantedAndhra Pradesha scheme to improve its green cover outside of forests.
The programme is being taken up with the support of USAID.

AP is one of the seven states including UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Assam, Odisha and Naduthat have been picked up to implement the Trees Outside the Forests in India (TOFI) project.

This project has been designed to support farmers,

local communities by strengthening Climate resilience of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture.

The objective is to increase

the tree coverage outside traditional forests contributing to Indias determined contribution target of creating an additional Carbon Sink of 2.5-3 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030.

Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will hold talks with his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar.

This would be his first-ever meeting with Naveen, and second meeting with other chief ministers in the last two-and-a-half years since he took over

as CM in May 2019.

A few months after he took charge,

Jagan held his first inter-state meeting with chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao over sharing of Krishna river waters.

The CM is scheduled to discuss issues like Polavaram project (on Godavari river), Neradu barrage (on Vamsadhara river) and Komarada barrage (on Janjhavati river), which have been pending for decades, during his meeting with Naveen in Bhubaneswar.

State tourism minister MuttamsettiSrinivasRao announced that a dedicated mobile application would be launched to provide tourists information on destinations, hotels and special packages. Addressing a press conference.

Raoadmitted that

the department suffered huge losses due to the pandemic and could achieve a revenue collection of 60croreagainst the Average of 120 crore.

The declared retail parks policy 2021-26, anticipating targeted Investment of RS 5,000 crore in the next five years. The government has proposed to encourage retail trade parks with a minimum investment of Rs 100 crore with 5,000 direct employments.

The state government issued orders to attract investments in retail trade in the state. The government proposes to encourage development of retail parks in every district each park with focus on one particular trade, like pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics, electricals, etc.

A nodal officer will be designated in every District Industries Centre (DIC) to facilitate the retail investment and promote retail parks to come up in the districts. The nodal officers would provide handholding for those who are interested in establishing the retail park. The nodal officer would help the investors get all clearances from the government.

The

policy also provides Infrastructure assistance from the state government for any park with an investment of Rs 100 crore or providing 5,000 direct EMPLOYMENT. The government would provide the roads, water, sewerage, electricity and other facilities to such parks. However, these incentives would be extended to the investors only if they fulfil the mandated investment or employment target, the state government said.

The state government also proposes to encourage organised retailers to set up their warehouses/distribution centres within the designated areas in the park. The government proposes logistic policy to cover the required initiatives for encouraging setting up of world class warehouses on PPP basis.

A workshop with farmers and exporters was held in Vijayawada on Tuesday to enhance the export opportunities for agricultural, horticultural and processed food products. Minister Govardhan Reddy inaugurated the workshop.

He said AP is an agricultural-based state and there was a high level of outflow of agricultural products from the state to other states as also to markets abroad. The need is to increase this flow of agricultural products from the
