Cabinet gives nod to Niti Aayog-like body in Uttar Pradesh

With an aim to makeUttar Pradesha USD 1 trillion economy and work towards a result-oriented implementation of policies and schemes, the state cabinet on Tuesday gave its approval to restructuring the existing State on the lines of NITI Aayog.

The new body, to be called State Transformation Commission (STC), will be headed by the chief minister and will work by collaborating with the government on policies, innovations and providing suggestions.

The CM will be the chairperson of the STC which will also have as its members the two deputy CMs and ministers of finance, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture, social welfare, Panchayati Raj, industrial development, jal sShakti, urban development and planning. The deputy chairperson will be a public administrator, economist or someone linked with the field, to be nominated by the CM.
