Bihar govt plans to boost jaggery production

In order to promote related to jaggery and unrefined sugar in the state and help the sugar cane farmers, the State Government is planning BiharStateJaggery ProductionIncentive Scheme and include it in the fourth Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture road map, sugar cane industries minister Alok Mehta said.

Sarvesh pointed that in spite of huge consumption of jaggery in the state, the production was negligible and it was being procured from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. He stressed on the importance of sugar cane as a commercial crop and industries related with jaggery, paper, ethanol and molasses were dependent on it.
