The zilla panchayat inBelagavihas topped in the state in creating the highest number of man days under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural EMPLOYMENT Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
This is the third consecutive year that theBelagavi ZPhas managed to pull this off.
There are 500 gram panchayats in the districts and the MGNREG scheme has been implemented effectively at all panchayats. Till January 12, 2023, 7.85 lakh new job cards have been distributed and Rs 305.23 crore in wages distributed.
