Sources said amongst the 15 constituencies seven in Cachar, five in Karimganj, and three in Hailakandi district the Muslim community would be a deciding factor in at least nine. These are Sonai, Borkhola, and Katigorah in Cachar; Algapur, Hailakandi, and Katlicherra in Hailakandi; and Badarpur, South Karimganj and North Karimganj in Karimganj district.
