Yuva Utsava-India@2047 launched by Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports, Information, and Broadcasting, from IIT Ropar in Punjab. On this occasion, Shri Anurag Thakur also unveiled the Yuva Utsava Dashboard.

In addition to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Dhar and Hosangabad in Madhya Pradesh, Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, Saraiekela in Jharkhand, Kapurthala in Punjab, Jalgaon in Maharashtra, Vijayawara in Andhra Pradesh, Karimnagar in , Palakhad in Kerala, and Cuddalore, all simultaneously hosted Yuva (Tamil Nadu).

To recognise the influence of youth, Yuva Utsava will be held in 150 Districts nationwide by March 31st, 2023

Indias bullet train to run by August 2026: Railway Minister

According to railways and telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the first bullet train in India will begin service in August 2026. The project will stimulate the economy because several of the suppliers to the project have begun receiving export orders. The government intends to start operating the first bullet train in August 2026. The goal is to run the bullet train on a larger section in 2027.

The Indian railways is building the countrys first bullet train from Ahmedabad, Gujarat to Mumbai, Maharashtra over 508-kilometer route. The high-speed train will run at top speed of 350 kms per hour, covering the distance in three hours. The ministry of railways updated the progress of the Bullet Train project and informed that the whole project has progressed by 26.33%. It also stated that 32.93% of the projects overall Gujarat leg had been completed and that the states surrounding civil works had advanced by about 54.74%.

Indo-US developed NISAR Satellite Reached ISRO

As per the India and US collaboration, NISAR Satellite has been built jointly by NASA and ISRO and is set to take off by 2024.

The satellite has been rendered to ISRO Space Agency which is intended to observe and measure land and ice masses on Earth among various other activities.

NASA asserted that this radar imaging satellite will use dual frequencies to assess complex issues such as melting Glaciers, ecosystem disruptions, etc.

Bola Tinubu elected as the new President of Nigeria

Nigerian electoral officials announced on 1 March 2023 that the ruling partys candidate in the presidential election, Bola Tinubu, has been elected as the countrys new president. Bola Tinubu has been associated with the All Progressive Congress Party from which he has been winning . He will become Nigerias fifth president since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999, emerging as winner for the countrys top job on his first attempt.

Main opponents Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are likely to challenge the decision again in court. Because Abubakar had finished second in the 2019 election as well and challenged the result in court. However, his suit was dismissed.

Lexi, Indias First AI-Based Chatbot Introduced in India

India recently launched its first AI-based chatbot named Lexi powered by ChatGPT which is a complex computer machine. The chatbot has been invented by the financial technology firm Velocity. Also, it is integrated into their in-house analytics tool.

This chatbot is designed to provide assistance to E-Commerce founders with business insights in a simplified manner. Moreover, it has been integrated with Velocitys own analytics tool i.e. Velocity Insights. The Velocity firm made the official chatbot announced in an online blog post.

The Generative Pre-Traind Transformer (ChatGPT) has been integrated into the same WhatsApp interface. This will give customers an opportunity to use the AI-based Lexi and they will be able to ask questions or enquire with the help of this Software.

IITs setting up mental-wellness centres to cope with suicides

Peeved over the suicide of an IIT-Bombay student and many more in the past at the prestigious chain of institutes, several Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are taking preventive measures such as counselling and mentorship for students with low grades and backlogs, reducing the curriculum load and setting up mental-wellness centres.

Also, the parliamentary standing committee for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) has called a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the recent suicide by 18-year-old Darshan Solanki at IIT-Bombay.

Suicide by an IIT Bombay student recently amid allegations of caste discrimination has brought the limelight back on the rigorous curriculum and competition at the prestigious institutes. IIT Bombay Director Subhasis Chaudhuri has announced that institute is working towards changes in their UG curriculum to make it “more relevant and motivating to students, and to reduce some Stress.

The online platform will provide you with a one-stop destination for all insurance needs, providing Services like buying insurance policies, portability facilities, change of insurance agents and settling of claims. It allows buyers to purchase life, motor or Health insurance policies directly. Besides, web aggregators (such as PolicyX, PolicyBazaar, etc.), brokers (such as Bajaj Capital, Probus Insurance Broker, etc.), banks and insurance agents will act as facilitators in selling insurance policies. The Bima Sugam platform will provide all these facilities to policyholders with an e-insurance account (E-IA).

Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit

The Ministry of Skill development and (MSDE) is organizing a seminar tomorrow at Hyatt Regency on building capacities among Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) partner nations through skill training and nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs. At the seminar, India will present its best practices on the digital transformation across different sectors in areas of Health, Education, skilling, IT and more, with special focus on sectors that helped cater to the welfare challenges faced by the masses during the pandemic.

New India Literacy Programme

The Government of India approved the New India Literacy Programme scheme for the fiscal years 2022-2027 that will cover all areas of adult Education and match with the national education policy 2020.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the New India Literacy Programme for the next five years, to cover all aspects of adult education. The ministry has decided to use the term Education for All instead of Adult Education, because the previous term didnt represent all non-literates who are in the age group of 15 years and above.

This programme is expected to cost Rs 1037.90 crore between 2022 and 2027, with the central government providing Rs 700 crore and the states providing Rs 337.90 crore, respectively.

Integrated Plant Nutrition Management Bill, 2022

Central government has proposed a law to empowers it to fix maximum selling price of Fertilizers and control its quality and distribution.

Department of Fertilizers has asked comments on the draft Integrated Plant Nutrition Management Bill, 2022, from all the stakeholders.

It is convenient in public interest that central government should take under its control on distribution, price and quality of standards of fertilizers.

The bill seeks to establish an Integrated Plant Nutrition Management Authority of India.

It is aimed at promoting development and sustainable use of balanced fertilizers, including , nano-fertilizers, bio-stimulates, and organic fertilizers.

It seeks to simplify the process for manufacturing production, distribution and price management of fertilizers across India. This will help in improving the Ease of Doing Business.
