A week after Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed that panchayat samitis inJat taluka’s villages in Sangli district had passed a resolution for a merger with Karnataka over the Maharashtra government’s failure to provide them water, chief minister Shinde on Monday approved a Rs 2,000 crore expansion plan for Mhaisal Irrigation project, which will bring 48 villages under irrigation.
According to reports, Shinde approved a revised proposal for Rs 2,000 crore for expansion of the Mhaisal irrigation project, which will irrigate 48 villages. It is expected that the tender process will be launched from January 1.
