TheWaltair divisionof East Coast RAILWAY has startedspecial trainsof mangoes fromVizianagaramon Wednesday. The railways is running special express trains from Vizianagaram as part of its commitment to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
Vizianagaram is the nodal point for transport of mangoes from northAndhra PradeshtoAdarsh Nagarin the country’s capital Delhi for transport of mangoes.
The first ‘mango special’ train of this season started with 200 tonnes of mangoes in 11,600 boxes to New Adarshnagar railway station at New Delhi. In the last financial year Waltair Division has transported 4350 tons of mangoes in 20 mango parcel special trains.
