Chief of Orissa High Court Justice S Muralidhar said very soon all courts in the state will be paperless. Speaking at the inauguration of five regional judicial academies (RJAs) of theOdisha Judicial Academy, he said, By the end of this year literally every court inOdishawill be paperless. All judicial officers in the state have been provided with laptops.
The announcement came at a time when Odisha is perhaps the first state in the country where there are paperless courts in all districts. The first paperless court in the state was inaugurated in the court of Chief Justice of the high court on September 11, 2021. At present, 10 benches of the high court are functioning in the paperless mode. On September 17, 2022, 34 paperless courts were inaugurated in the district courts.
The five RJAs were inaugurated
atAngul,Balasore,Berhampur, Jeypore and Sambalpur through the virtual mode.
