Akshaya Patra kitchen to be built in Hazaribag at a cost of Rs 27 crore

The project of Akshaya Patra kitchen in Hazaribagh is taking shape with the efforts of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance and Hazaribagh MP cum Chairman Jayant Sinha. The project is likely to be completed in the next 8-9 months. This kitchen being built at Demotand at a cost of Rs 27 crore will provide nutritious mid-day meals to about 1 lakh children of 565 government schools in the district daily. This Akshaya Patra will be the 5th largest kitchen in the world.

With the efforts of Hazaribag MP Jayant Sinha, now a huge kitchen of Akshaya Patra is being built in Ramgarh on the same lines. For this he was trying for a long time. He urged CCL for its construction and operation and got an amount of Rs 22 crore approved through CSR. An amount of Rs 15 crore will be spent for the construction of this kitchen and Rs 7 crore on its operation. They are continuously working to take this project on the ground and are providing necessary guidelines and support to Ramgarh District Administration, CCL and Akshaypatra’s team in this regard. By the efforts of Jayant Sinha, MoU was signed on 17 January 2022 for this huge project.

The kitchen will provide nutritious mid-day meals daily to 50,000 children of government schools. This kitchen is unique in itself, as it will increase the capacity and quality of food availability. Also, it will be equipped with world class facilities. Equipment will be imported from all over the world for its manufacture and many things will be made from steam instead of gas. It will be ready in the next 2 years. Jayant Sinha has envisaged this project keeping in mind the Human resource development and then children will get quality food regularly, their Health will improve and school attendance will increase.
