Akshay Urja Diwas – 20th August

Akshay Urja Diwas ( Day) is held each and every year on 20 August to raise awareness about the traits and adoption of renewable power in India.

Highlights:

The Akshay Urja Day was started by the Ministry for New & Renewable Energy Sources in the year 2004. Energy such as Biogas, Wind Energy, Solar Energy, hydroelectric electricity are a few examples of Akshay Urja.

The predominant motive of Akshya urja Diwas is to make human beings aware that they have to think about renewable electricity (Akshya Urja) apart from common energy.

Indian Akshay Urja Day used to be hooked up in 2004 to help renewable energy development programs and promote its use instead of normal sources of energy.

The very first tournament touching on Akshay Urja Diwas was once organized in New Delhi. In 2004, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launched a commemorative stamp, and 12,000 schoolchildren shaped a human chain to promote renewable energy.
