Aiming to attract investments into Uttar Pradesh, the state government has decided to set up private industrial parks in several districts on public-private participation (PPP) model.

The districts earmarked for setting up and development of these parks include Lucknow, Unnao, Amethi, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Azamgarh, Ambedkarnagar, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj.

The project will be developed on a PPP model. The purpose of this exercise is to promote the industries of the state and increase economic activities through the expressway. Now the movement of goods from Western UP to Central UP, Purvanchal and Bundelkhand is going to be faster and easier. There is also a plan to set up a private industrial park on the land of Auto Tractor Limited in Pratapgarh as its plant shut down operations in 1972.
