Uttarakhand would become the second State in the country after Madhya Pradesh to provide the option of selecting Hindi as the medium of study in the medical colleges tothe students. The medical Education department has constituted a four member expert committee for designing the draft of the new syllabus by studying the Hindi medium curriculum prepared by the MP for the medical colleges.
The Health and medical education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Union Government is giving special importance to Hindi under which emphasis is being laid on use of Hindi in the judiciary and government departments. The minister said MP has already become the first state in the country to start medical studies in Hindi medium. He said that a four member committee has been constituted for preparing the draft of the curriculum of Hindi medium in medical studies. The committee would be headed by the Principal of the Srinagar Medical College Dr CMS Rawat. Dr A K Singh and Dr H S Pandey of Haldwani medical college would be the members while the Professor Dr Daulat Singh of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) would be the member secretary of the committee.
