The assembly passed theRajasthanAdvocates protectionBill2023, the first-of-its-kind in the country. Lawyers, who have boycotted courts for the last 32 days after a spate of attacks on their peers, have been demanding the Act for a long time.
The Bill has been passed with amendments including provision of assault on court premises deleted and punishment for lawyers for misuse of the Act has been reduced from three years to two years.
