TheAdani Groups newly commissioned 2X800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhands Godda district has begun its commercial operations from June 26, the company said in a statement.
The reliability run rest, including the commercial operation tests of the new second unit, was completed on June 25 in presence of the officials of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and the Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh, the statement added. The first unit of the plant began its commercial operations on April 6.
The Rs 25,000 crore unit will supply 1,496 MW power to the neighbouring country as part of its power purchase agreement (PPA) which it inked with the BPDB in November, 2017.
The power will be supplied through 400 KV transmission grids which are connected to the Bangladesh grid. The PPA inked between APJL and BPDB is for 25 years.
