Cumulativeexportsin June both merchandise and Services from functioning specialeconomiczones (SEZs) inGujaratdeclined by 5.6% from May,2021.
GujaratsSEZexports fell to Rs 17,408 crore in June 2021 against exports worth Rs 18,441 crore in May. However, exports were 60% higher than exports of Rs 10,901 crore in June last year, government data shows. In June 2020, the states SEZ exports were hit by the nationwide lockdown.
players attributed the June fall to the second wave of the pandemic and a container shortage, among other factors.
On month-on-month basis, exports fromSurat SEZdeclined by 59% to Rs 726.27 crore in June from Rs 1,790.73 crore in May. Exports from the Reliance SEZ dipped by 4% to Rs 13,283.63 crore from Rs 13,868.63 crore in the same period.
