Rice millers in Chhattisgarh have started depositing custom milled rice in the Central pool to Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns in the state.

A press communiqu said the process started with a rice miller of Raigarh depositing 290 quintals at a godown there on Monday.

Paddy procurement in the state started on December 1 and the lifting of paddy by rice millers and its milling process have now been stepped up, the communiqu said.

Chhattisgarh has set a target of depositing 61.65 lakh tonnes of rice under Central pool, it said.
