The High Court has delivered the first ever judgement in Telugu in a dispute over a property inSecunderabadbetween two brothers.
The 44-page judgement delivered follows a Kerala high court order in Malayalam in February. The move comes in the wake of The Supreme Court keeping its important judgements online after having them translated into regional languages.
The high court bench of Justice P Naveen Rao and Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka also prepared its judgement separately in English and enclosed it along with the Telugu version. It clarified that any typographical errors found in Telugu should be compared with the English version and that the latter would get primacy if there was any confusion.
The bench added that the order was pronounced in Telugu for the convenience of the litigants. Some English words have been used in the Telugu version as people of the state use them widely, the judges added.
