The state cabinet, headed by chief ministerNaveen Patnaik approved a proposal for amendment of the ShriJagannathTemple Act, 1954, paving way for easy and simplified settlement of immovable properties/lands of the shrine in favour of those in occupation for decades.
With the amendment planned through ordinance route, the has decided to remove certain restrictions regarding settlement of the land.
The settlement is being done by paying required fees as decided under the Uniform Policy introduced in 2003.
