In sync with the Digital India policy propounded by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Panchayati Raj department of Uttarakhand transferred a sum of Rs 85 crore into the bank accounts of three tier Panchayati Raj bodies of the state with a click of the mouse on Friday. The amount is the first installment of the untied grant of the central Finance commission for the year 2021-22 to the state.

The secretary of department, H C Semwal said that Rs 63.75 crore was digitally transferred to village Panchayats, Rs 8.50 crore to the Block Panchayats and Rs 12.75 crore to District Panchayats through PUBLIC FINANCE Management System (PFMS).
