AssamCM Himanta BiswaSarmasaid the state andMeghalayahave an agrement to maintain status quo on the border till the disputes are resolved and cautioned the neighbouring government that any of its action violating the constitutional boundary of Assam will not have legal validity.

Sarmas statement has come after Meghalaya cabinet on Tuesday approved setting up of seven Police outposts inWest Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills,Ri Bhoiand East Jaintia Hills districts along the inter-state boundary with

Assam and Meghalaya have a constitutional boundary and maps are available to both state governments. I am sure Meghalaya government will not do anything within the constitutional boundary of the state of Assam.
