Chhattisgarh State Vice Chairman Ajay Singh emphasized the need to regularly monitor the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at district level. The UN had set 17 SDGs to ensure sustainable development.
To monitor, a state-level steering committee under the Chief Minister, a state-level SDG implementation and monitoring Committee under the Chief Secretary and a district-level SDG implementation and monitoring committee under Collectors have been constituted.
A total of 83 indicators related to social, economic, environmental and other aspects have been included in the framework, he said.
NITI Aayog on a regular basis releases SDG Index in which all the states are ranked against each SDG. Chhattisgarh has been given the 19th rank in a recently released index.
