The has proposed new initiatives that focus on empowering the transgender community. The social welfare department has moved three proposals – pension for third gender community, Scholarship for school students coming from the community and one-time aid for coaching for competitive examinations.
According to sources, the social welfare department will provide a pension of Rs 350 per month to eligible persons that will be deposited directly in their bank account.
