The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, headed by Bhupender Yadav, gave a nod to the BihtaESIC hospital to start its own medical college.

Once made functional, Esic will be the 18th medical college and hospital in Bihar, including six private ones. During the first and second waves of the pandemic, it was made a dedicated Covid hospital.
