Chief minister Jai RamThakursaid thatHimachal Pradeshis gearing up to tackle Covid’s possible third wave by boosting the Health required to treat the children as it is being said that children would be affected the most in the third wave.
Thakur said that health department officials have been directed to prepare the plan accordingly as the treatment protocol of children would be different than that of adult Covid patients.
He said that Himachal Pradesh is the only state where Covid patients were not turned down admissions in the hospitals in the want of beds, ventilators or Oxygen. He added, during the first wave of corona pandemic last year, the state had started the process of strengthening health infrastructure and when positive cases surged during the second wave, the state had increased the bed capacity and other facilities accordingly.
