AP Aqua University finally gets on track after years of delay

TheAndhra Pradesh Aqua Universityis finally set to become a reality after years of delay in its establishment. Andhra Pradesh, which is the largest exporter of marine products, becomes the fifth state after Karnataka, Kerala, Nadu and West Bengal to have such an university while Maharashtra is Home to theCentral Institute of Fisheries Education.

cost of Rs 332 crore in the first phase.

In the second phase, a seafront campus and research centre will be established on a 350-acre site at Biyyaputippa village at a cost of Rs 222 crore, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.

West Godavari is the hub of aquaculture in the state with shrimp farms spread over thousands of hectares and presence of numerous processing units.
