The Indo-gangetic region is one of the most polluted regions in the country given the fact that it is landlocked. UP lies in this region and at least 99.4% of the states Population resides in areas which exceed the permissible limits of Air Pollution. This was highlighted in a webinar titled solving Uttar Pradeshs air pollution crisis while keeping pace with the development organised byClimate Trendson International Clean Air Day.
Dr Surya Kant said, high air pollution levels are not only causing respiratory disorders in people in UP but also neurological ailments.
There is a need to make the common man aware of air pollution and its impacts, said Arunima Sinha.
