Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana is our effort in the direction of making a daughter a boon and not a burden.

The started this scheme in the year 2006 with the aim to ensure that the marriage of the daughter should not be a burden to the family. Lakhs of daughters have been married in the last 16 years under the scheme. Marriage is considered a Sanskar in Indian culture.
