As many as 559 missing children, including 487 girls, have been rescued under the Chhattisgarh Polices Operation Muskan drive, it was announced.
Of the total, 76 were missing from Janjgir-Champa, 56 from Raipur and 52 each from Bilaspur and Sakti districts, an official statement said.
The rescue operation was organized between June 1 and 30 within Chhattisgarh and in other states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, , Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Karnataka, the statement said. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had ordered the Home Department to rescue the missing children.
