The office of DGP stated on Saturday that the state Police and other government agencies in the period between 2019 and 2021 seized 437kg drugs worth Rs 21,000 crore. Another 3,000kg of heroin worth Rs 21,000 crore was seized from the port and special economic zone inMundra.

According to the statement, attempts were made to push drugs in the country throughGujaratfromPakistanbut the ATS with the help of the coast guard foiled the attempts.

18 persons were arrested and drugs, including 5kg of methamphetamine, 2,596g of brown sugar and 100g of heroin, worth Rs 526.96 crore, were seized.

In 2020, the cops arrested 19 persons and recovered drugs worth Rs 177.09 crore. The seizure included 654.63g of methamphetamine, 652.79g of brown sugar and 35.06kg of heroin.
In 2021, the cops arrested 36 persons and recovered 1kg of methamphetamine and 292.29kg of heroin
